An outpouring of prayers, support, and compassion continues to surround Janessa and her loved ones following a devastating car accident that has profoundly impacted an entire community. According to an update shared on July 15, Janessa remains in the Intensive Care Unit as she begins a long and difficult road to recovery after the tragic collision that occurred on Monday, July 13, at approximately 3:00 p.m.

The accident claimed the lives of Janessa’s parents, Jeff and Susie, as well as her younger brother, Steven. The driver of the other vehicle also died as a result of the crash. The heartbreaking loss has left family members, friends, church members, first responders, teachers, coaches, and countless community members grieving alongside Janessa during an unimaginable time.

Despite the overwhelming tragedy, those close to Janessa have been inspired by her faith and resilience.
